The Opportunity
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Trusts, Estates, and Tax (TET) Probate Executive to join its specialist team in Oxford.
This role offers the opportunity to be part of a respected private client team that provides expert guidance in estate administration, tax planning, and trust management. The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day administration of estates, working on a variety of matters, including those involving business and agricultural assets, taxable and non-taxable estates, and trusts.
With a longstanding Tier 1 ranking in the Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Guide, the team is recognised for its technical expertise and client-focused approach.
About the Role
Due to increased demand, the Trusts, Estates & Tax team is expanding and requires an additional Probate Executive to assist with estate administration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Handling the administration of estates, including those with complex assets, taxable elements, and related trusts
- Assisting with inheritance tax planning and tax compliance matters
- Managing trust administration, ensuring compliance and supporting trustees
- Providing empathetic and professional client support throughout the probate process
- Working closely with qualified solicitors and other team members to deliver high-quality legal services
The scope of responsibilities will be adjusted based on the candidate's experience and expertise.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a fee-earning role within a private client team
- A STEP qualification (preferred but not required)
- The ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong client-care skills, with a professional yet empathetic approach
- A collaborative mindset, contributing to a supportive team environment
