An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented solicitor to join a leading Real Estate Dispute Resolution (REDR) team at a highly regarded Legal 100 firm in Guildford. The Role
This position sits within a specialist REDR team, handling a broad range of residential and commercial property disputes. The successful candidate will work on matters including:

  • Landlord and tenant disputes (both residential and commercial)
  • Long leasehold advice
  • Contested service charge recovery (Court and Tribunal)
  • Lease interpretation and consultation procedures
  • Rights of first refusal
  • Residential lease renewals and collective enfranchisement
  • Security of tenure and landlord-tenant relationships

Under the supervision of experienced lawyers, the role involves managing a varied caseload, supporting senior colleagues with complex matters, and actively contributing to business development and client care.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2-4 years post-qualification experience in contentious residential and commercial property law or a strong litigation background with a property focus
  • A sound understanding of key legislation, including the Housing Acts, Landlord & Tenant Acts, and the Protection from Eviction Act
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills
  • Strong client care abilities, with a commercial and pragmatic approach
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team and meet deadlines effectively
