The Role

This position would suit a lawyer with a strong professional indemnity background who enjoys technically challenging work, direct client contact and the opportunity to contribute to the growth of a successful specialist practice.

You will advise on a broad range of matters, including:

• Professional indemnity defence litigation
• Insurance coverage and policy response advice
• Financial lines claims
• Broker negligence disputes
• Defence of negligence claims against legal, financial and other regulated professionals
• Coverage disputes involving insurers, MGAs and claims handlers
• Recovery actions and strategic claims advice

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate is likely to have:

• 3-8 years' PQE
• A strong professional indemnity background
• Experience advising insurers on coverage, policy interpretation and indemnity issues
• Exposure to financial lines claims and insurer-side disputes
• Experience acting for insurers, brokers or insureds in broker negligence matters
• A strong understanding of policy response, coverage analysis and defence strategy
• Experience handling claims involving solicitors, accountants, financial advisers, surveyors, brokers, construction professionals or other regulated professionals
• Confidence managing client relationships and running matters with minimal supervision
• The ability to supervise junior lawyers and contribute to practice growth
