Data Engineer
Manchester - 2 days a week onsite
£40K - £60K DOE
My client is a leading IT consultancy and they are looking for a talented data engineer to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures tailored to client requirements.
• Develop ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into centralised systems.
• Optimise data storage and retrieval for efficiency and cost-effectiveness, considering client-specific contexts.
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and provide actionable insights.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and systems, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance to protect client data.
• Document data processes, architectures, and workflows to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to provide innovative solutions to clients.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, preferably within an IT consultancy.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery).
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with clients and team members effectively.
