A highly regarded national law firm is seeking a talented Corporate Solicitor to join its award-winning Corporate Team in Oxford. About the Team
The firm's Corporate Team, comprised of over 70 lawyers across 13 UK offices, is recognised for its expertise and excellence. The team advises a diverse client base, including entrepreneurs, SMEs, financial institutions, and FTSE 100 companies, on matters such as:
- Mergers and acquisitions.
- Fundraising and private equity.
- Equity capital markets and joint ventures.
- Corporate restructurings and governance.
The Oxford-based team combines top-tier national expertise and international reach with a strong Thames Valley presence. The team operates in a collaborative, supportive, and entrepreneurial environment, led by a nationally recognised individual ranked in Chambers & Partners 2024 and the Legal 500. They deliver high-value, complex deals while offering flexible working and modern, well-connected offices.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work on a wide range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, shareholder agreements, private equity, and corporate restructurings. With a team-oriented approach, the firm encourages its lawyers to develop their skills and network to build lasting client relationships.
The role is open to candidates with 5+PQE, though applications from individuals with varying levels of experience are welcome.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality legal advice across a range of corporate matters.
- Managing financial performance, including accurate time recording, billing, and meeting targets.
- Identifying and driving business development opportunities to enhance client relationships.
- Staying up-to-date with technical expertise and legal developments.
- Contributing to the team's collaborative culture and embodying the firm's core values.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Relevant post-qualification experience (5+) in corporate law.
- Strong commercial awareness and a client-focused approach.
- The ability to manage a caseload with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building and maintaining client relationships.
- Proficiency in IT systems, including case management software and Microsoft Office.
- A proactive attitude toward professional growth and development.
