Commercial & IP Solicitor - Leading Law Firm

Location: Stratford-upon-Avon and Birmingham
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Hours: Full-time, Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days from home)

Our client, a highly regarded and innovative law firm with offices in Stratford-upon-Avon and Birmingham, is seeking an accomplished Commercial & IP Solicitor (7+ PQE) to join their dynamic Commercial Law team. This is an excellent opportunity to lead high-profile, high-value matters while working within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.


The Role

As a Commercial & IP Solicitor, you will provide expert legal advice and support across all aspects of commercial contracts, intellectual property, and data protection. This includes managing complex contractual agreements, advising on legal risks, and ensuring clients' interests are protected. You will also contribute to business development and mentor junior team members, playing a key role in the team's growth and success.


This role would particularly suit:

  • A solicitor with 7+ years of PQE in commercial contracts and intellectual property, with a strong track record of managing complex agreements.
  • A commercially aware professional with strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Someone with a proactive approach to business development and a commitment to delivering high-quality client service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the drafting, negotiation, and review of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, IT contracts, outsourcing, and more.
  • Advising on legal risks, obligations, and rights under contracts while providing strategic guidance on performance and termination.
  • Supporting clients in intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyright, and branding.
  • Advising on data protection compliance, including policies, procedures, and responses to DSARs.
  • Conducting thorough legal research to ensure compliance and inform strategies.
  • Resolving contractual disputes and providing support in M&A transactions, including mergers and joint ventures.
  • Mentoring junior associates and paralegals while contributing to their development.
  • Building strong client relationships and engaging in networking and business development activities.
