Base24 Lead Engineer
Swindon (2/3 Days per week on-site)
Up to £85,000 Dependent on Experience

We're looking for a skilled Base24 Lead Engineer to develop and support ATM/POS software solutions while guiding a team of Base24 Engineers. You'll work closely with business and IT teams to ensure smooth project delivery and application performance for a major UK building society.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Base24 applications.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Support projects including migration from Base24 Classic to EPS and regulatory updates.
• Implement VISA scheme updates and ensure compliance.
• Troubleshoot issues and improve system resilience and recovery.
• Provide expertise in ATM/POS tech and payment regulations.
• Lead and mentor a global team of engineers.
• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing initiatives.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in Base24 development.
• Proficient in TAL, COBOL, and S-COBOL.
• Solid grasp of Base24 architecture, ATM/POS systems, VISA, LINK, and EMV.
• Hands-on with HP NonStop, VersaTest, and XPNET.
• Familiarity with tools such as Pathway, Enscribe, TMF, EMS, ACI Desktop, and others.
• Understanding of card schemes (Visa, Mastercard, LINK).
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Able to work independently or collaboratively as needed.

Desirable:

• Experience migrating from Base24 Classic to EPS.
• Exposure to testing tools like Iliad, Paragon, Visa VTS.
• Knowledge of version control systems like RMS.
• End-to-end payments domain experience.
• Agile/Scrum methodology familiarity.
