Backup Engineer - Linux/Unix - NetBackup - Storage - Networking - 12 month contract - Glasgow Hybrid (3 days onsite)

I have an immediate opportunity for a Backup Engineer with a strong background in designing and implementing data protection solutions for corporate clients. In this role, you will be responsible for developing strategies to safeguard company data, ensuring reliability and efficiency in backup environments.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: Proven background in backup engineering within corporate environments with Financial Services background a distinct advantage
• Technical Skills:
• Expertise in backup solutions, ideally Veritas NetBackup, Cohesity, and NetBackup Flex 10.x.
• Experience setting up backup environments from scratch.
• Strong Unix/Linux and networking knowledge.
• Scripting skills (Python or PowerShell) beneficial but not essential.
• Cloud exposure is a plus.
• Professional Background: this will suit someone with a background in integration rather than sole backup administration, and experience in delivering projects and working independently.
• Problem-Solving Ability: Comfortable working with ambiguous requirements and translating them into efficient solutions.
• Quick Learner: Able to think on their feet and adapt to new challenges.
